From Mexico City, head to the Autobuses de Pasajeros de Oriente (TAPO) bus station and take a bus to the town of San Juan Teotihuacan. From there, local buses or taxis can transport you to the archaeological zone.
Time to Get to Teotihuacán, Mexico
The journey from Mexico City to Teotihuacan takes approximately 1 to 1.5 hours by bus, depending on traffic conditions. It’s advisable to plan for a full day to explore the archaeological site, climb the pyramids, and soak in the rich history without feeling rushed.

While many visitors choose to stay in Mexico City and make a day trip to Teotihuacan, there are also accommodations available in the town of San Juan Teotihuacan for those who want a more immersive experience. The town offers a range of options from cozy guesthouses to charming boutique hotels.

Costs at Teotihuacán
The entrance fee to Teotihuacan is quite reasonable, making it accessible to a wide range of travelers. As of my last knowledge update, the fee was around 85 Mexican Pesos (approximately $4 USD). There might be additional costs for transportation, guided tours, or special access to certain areas.
What to Do in Teotihuacán
Ascend the Pyramid of the Sun: Begin your journey by climbing the Pyramid of the Sun, the third-largest pyramid in the world.
